The Draft Environmental Impact Report and How to Respond

Please go to https://ppc.ucsc.edu/planning/EnvDoc.html to download a copy of the Draft Environmental Impact Report or to find out where paper copies can be viewed.

“Two information and public comment meetings will be held: the first on Wed., May 2, 2018, from 6:30-8:30 PM at the Louden Nelson Center, 301 Center St., Santa Cruz; the second on Thurs., May 3, from 5-7 PM, at Hotel Paradox, 611 Ocean St., Santa Cruz (NEW LOCATION)

At these meetings, public agencies and members of the public will be invited to give oral comments on the Draft EIR.

“Written comments on the Draft EIR may be submitted to: Alisa Klaus, UC Santa Cruz, , Physical Planning & Construction, 1156 High St , Mailstop: PPDO, Santa Cruz, CA 95064, or via email to eircomment@ucsc.edu. The public review period is scheduled to close on Friday, May 11, 2018, at 5 PM.”

EMAC urges those concerned about East Meadow development to write or email Alisa Klaus as soon as possible requesting an extension of the review period.  The plans to develop the East Meadow were made hastily, without adequate notice or consultation.  We need more time to process the over 600 page EIR, and to adequately research the various problems with the site.   Whether the extension is granted or not, we encourage concerned community members to communicate their concerns to the university.
